Launched two new models — HOP LEO, priced at Rs. 72,500 onwards and HOP LYF, priced at Rs. 65,500 onwards; and is planning to launch an e-motorbike soon

Aiming to provide a sustainable and efficient mode of transport, the brand will offer e-vehicles as automotive solutions for the modern world

New Delhi, NFAPost: With global warming and carbon dioxide emissions becoming severe environmental issues, more and more people are opting for cost-effective, easy to maintain and greener transport solutions in the form of electric vehicles.

To address the growing demand for e-vehicle solutions, one of India’s leading electric two-wheeler makers, HOP Electric Mobility- an automotive solution providing startup, is gearing up to launch at least 5 e-vehicle solutions by the end of this financial year.

HOP has launched two new models — HOP LEO, priced at Rs 72,500 onwards and HOP LYF, priced at Rs 65,500 onwards; and is planning to launch an e-motorbike soon. HOP e-vehicle solutions are based on extensive R&D research. They have distinctive key features that are not so prevalent in the currently available electric two-wheelers in the market– this includes High Range upto 125 km, 72V architecture, High-performance Motor to climb any slope with loading capacity of 180 kg for both HOP LEO and LYF, boot space of 19.5 litres, connecting features (Internet, GPS, Mobile App) and many more.

HOP’s 40,000 square feet long manufacturing unit in Jaipur is equipped to produce 50,000 vehicles per year, expandable up to 1 lakh units. By the year 2022, the brand is planning to set up a new manufacturing unit in South India, which will have the capacity to produce a minimum of 5 lakh units per year.

New product HOP LEO (Rs. 72,500 onwards) – The electric-scooter HOP Leo is offered in three variants — LEO Basic, LEO and LEO Extended. The product can gear up a top speed up to 60 km per hour. With a dual 2X Li-ion battery, the scooter is capable of going up to 125 km range on a single charge. The electric motor of LEO Extended can produce mechanical power up to 2700W in a single go.

New product HOP LYF (Rs. 65,500 onwards)- The three variants of HOP LYF consist of LYF Basic, LYF and LYF Extended. Like HOP LEO, the LYF model offers a 125 km range per charge with a dual 2X Li-ion battery. The e-scooter comes with a top speed up to 50 km per hour. The electric motor of LYF Extended can produce mechanical power up to 2000W.

Other premium features of HOP LEO and HOP LYF include park assist, reverse gear up to 5kmph, side stand sensor, three ride modes with reserve mode, LED console, dual disc brakes, USB charging, remote key, anti-theft alarm and anti-theft wheel lock. HOP Electric Mobility is also allowing its customers to add on additional accessories such as internet and GPS connectivity. These electric two-wheelers are absolutely cost-effective as the price starts from just Rs 65,500/-.

Upcoming Product – HOP Electric Mobility is also planning to launch an e-bike, HOP OXO 100, which is slated to offer a 100km range on a single charge. The e-bike will provide a top speed of 100 km per hour with a motor power of 7200W.

HOP Electric Mobility CEO and Founder Ketan Mehta said since most millennials and now Gen Z individuals are now preferring sustainable yet convenient modes of transportation, these new product offerings will revolutionise the Indian e-mobility space.

“After months of R&D, our experts have furnished these two models with premium features and commendable battery range.” He further added, “We foresee hypergrowth in the e-mobility space and are looking forward to adding more products in our portfolio,” said Ketan Mehta.

To further its vision of propelling electric mobility adoption in India, the company is also planning to build charging stations starting from Jaipur and then further expanding it in other cities and states. The customers will be able to replace their discharged batteries with a fully charged battery within 30 seconds only. The HOP Electric Vehicles cover 70 km on a single charge with an economical cost of just under 20 paise per km.

Hop Energy Network- HOP Electric Mobility is also planning to come up with a first electric vehicle segment, called the Hop Energy Network. It will have built-in battery swapping cum charging stations where the customer will be able to replace their discharged battery with a fully charged battery in just 30 seconds.

Hop’s energy network started taking up the shape as the testing continued. In January 2021, Hop’s pilot network with 5 Swapping stations and 50 Batteries started operation in Jaipur.

With the vision to become the world’s leading provider of green, sustainable and energy-efficient two-wheelers, HOP Electric Mobility Private Limited was founded by Ketan Mehta, Nikhil Bhatia and Rahil Gupta. Ketan is the CEO, while Nikhil and Rahil are looking after Operations and Product management, respectively. Hop is now a 25+ member team with Vivek Tomar joined as a Business Head, Rajneesh Singh as Head of Marketing, Avinash Choudhary as North India Regional manager, among others.

The company recently launched a regional branch in Jaipur, inaugurated by Rajasthan Minister of Road and Transport Sh. Pratap Singh Khachariyawas. As of now, HOP has three market-ready products, two e-scooters and one e-motorcycle.

The brand plans to launch at least ten new products in the next three years. HOP’s 40,000 square feet manufacturing unit is currently situated in Jaipur, and it plans to expand its footprint countrywide soon.
